Voter Registration Documents

Banks County residents desiring to register to vote or change their name and/or address on the voter registration list may do so several ways. In Georgia, voters must be registered to vote 30 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote in that election. Click to view the elections calendar.

By mail:

In order to be eligible to vote in the next scheduled election, a Voter Registration Application must be completely filled out and either USPS postmarked by the registration deadline; or otherwise delivered in person to our office no later than the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on the date of the deadline in order to be considered timely.

A VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION

Online Registration:

To use the Georgia Secretary of State's Online Voter Registration System you must have a valid driver's license or identification card issued by the GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) with signature on file with DDS (If you do not have a valid driver's license or identification card, you will be allowed to print and manually submit a paper Voter Registration Application).

Register to Vote or Change Your Name/Address Online

In person Registration:

Register at the Banks County Voter Registrations & Elections Office located at 226 Candler Steet, Homer, GA 30547. The Elections Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Register at any public library in the county.
Applications can be downloaded and are also available at our office and at any public library.

Remove my name from the rolls:

Registered voters desiring to have their name removed from the Banks County, Georgia list of registered voters are required to complete and sign a written request to have their name removed from the voter rolls.
In order to request that your name be removed from the voter rolls in Banks County, please complete and sign the Voter Registration Removal by Request form.
Submit your completed and signed request to our office via any of the methods below:

Upon processing of your signed request, the status of your voter registration record will be updated to cancelled. This means your name will be removed from the active voter rolls in Banks County, Georgia and that you will be ineligible to vote in any election until such time that you choose to register to vote by completing a new voter registration application.
If you have moved from Banks County to another county in Georgia and you wish to remain a registered voter, please complete a new Voter Registration Application and submit to your new county of residence.
If you need to notify our office of a loved one's passing so that we may remove the voter's name from the voter rolls, please complete a Deceased Voter Registration Removal by Request form.
