About Absentee-By-Mail Voting

Any registered Banks County voter may vote absentee.  This gives you the opportunity to vote on a day or time which is convenient for you.  Regular Absentee requests may be submitted up to 79 days in advance.  You may request an absentee ballot for any reason and no matter where you will be located on election day. There are additional options for Military and Overseas voters.

Request an Application for an Absentee Ballot

  • Completed and signed absentee ballot applications can be returned via mail, e-mail, or in-person to:

          Banks County Elections and Registration, 226 Candler St., Homer, GA 30547

When to Submit an Absentee Ballot

  • Absentee applications for the upcoming June 17, 20205 Special Election can be submitted March 31, 2025 through June 6, 2025.
All applications must have a wet pen and ink signature.
 
Drop Boxes

Banks County has one drop box.  This drop box is located inside the office of the Elections and Registration Office.  It is open from the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM during Early Voting.  The Drop Box closes at the end of each day of Early Voting.  The Drop Box will close at 5:00pm on the last day of Early Voting and will not re-open for that election.  If you are unable to use the drop box, you may also hand-deliver the ballot to our reception window.  If you are dropping off the ballot for someone else, you will be asked to complete a short form for record keeping.
