Waste Management and Recycling

Banks County is the host county for Waste Management's R&B Landfill located at 610 Bennett Road in Homer, Georgia. Waste Management, Banks County, and the North Georgia Resource Management Authority are involved in a Public/Private Partnership to provide recycling to Banks County Residents. The recycling center is located at the landfill. 

  • Banks County residents may deposit all household trash free of charge to the landfill.

  • Waste Management's operating hours are 5am until 4 pm Monday through Friday and 6am until 11am on Saturday.

RECYCLING CENTER:

While you can recycle any of the hours we are open, if you need assistance, Ronald Munday is the Banks County Recycling Center Attendant. His hours are Tuesday through Friday 8am until 4am and Saturday, 7am until 11am.

We provide full-time electronics recycling at the Banks County Recycling Center. We do not take microwaves. The only TV's we accept, for recycling, are flat-screen TV"s  There is a $20 charge for flat-screen tv's. Please come with a check made out to Banks County Commissioners. No cash is accepted.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am until 4pm, and Saturdays from 7am until 11am 

Items we collect for recycling:

  • all mixed paper (i.e. if you can tear it, we can take it)
  • Newsprint
  • paperboard
  • Cardboard
  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel and bi-metallic cans
  • Number 1 & 2 plastic bottles, lids removed and rinsed
