Receive news and alerts
There are multiple ways to receive news and alerts. Sign up to follow the Banks County Sheriff's Department. While this is not the official news, it is a great source of information of what is going on in the county. In addition, services like Emergency Email and Wireless Network can send texts and emails with critical weather updates.
Driver's License
A Georgia driver's license should be secured within 30 days of establishing residency in the state. A vision test is required for persons having a valid out-of-state license. A $15 fee is charged and must be paid in cash or money order. Go to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Pets
Dogs, cats and other domestic animals must wear proof of rabies vaccination at all times. Check with your vet or watch for rabies clinics each spring.
School Registration
Children entering Georgia Public Schools for the first time must present proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough, diptheria, and tetanus, as well as proof of eye, ear, and dental exams. Students who were previously enrolled should present their last report card and/or transcript. Register by contacting the school district at (706) 677-2224.
