Animal Control

animals

Banks County does not have an official Animal Control Department; however, the Banks County Code Enforcement Officer is available to help educate the public about responsible animal ownership and to enforce county ordinances applicable to domesticated animals through education, warning, or enforcement actions. Unfortunately, Banks County does not have an animal shelter. We do not pick up stray animals nor do we have a place to house surrendered animals. Therefore, we rely heavily on our citizens to be knowledgeable about responsible pet ownership.

You can assist with animal control by:

  • Spaying/neutering and vaccinating your animals
  • Providing proper medical care and routine examinations
  • Supplying adequate food and water and a proper shelter
  • Keeping your animals contained and under control
  • Being considerate
  • Training your animal
  • Obeying animal ordinances
  • Reporting animal attacks in a timely manner

A search on the internet for ANIMAL RESCUES NEAR ME may better assist you with your issues with stray animals.  Animal rescues are committed to helping animals find a permanent and loving home.
